Digital radiography is a form of X-ray imaging, where digital X-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. The sensor digitally transfers and enhances the images immediately to a computer screen for our review. Digital radiography reduces radiation exposure by 50 percent and the image quality is vastly improved. The detail, clarity and contrast allow us to diagnose cavities and pathology much better than with traditional films. We can send images via email to dental specialists and this helps speed up the consultation process when a specialist’s opinion is needed.
